Youthful Radicals of Christ’s KingdomYROCK: Urban Youth Ministry - it is the philosophy of our Urban Youth Ministry - YROCK to "sow seeds into the future", Matthew 13:3-8. In so doing we are committed to providing a safe and structured environment for youth and teens to learn and grow; while at the same time making disciples for Jesus Christ - Matthew 28:18-20. It is our intent to go out into the INDY community and accomplish this goal with our youth and all whom God directs in our path. This is the generation of believers who has declared they got NEXT...NEXT in line for GOD's favor, God's Blessings and God's Anointing!YROCK Refuge: College Age Ministry - is comprised of college students, college-bound students, and college aged peers. This is a special group of GOD Radicals that are coming into finding themselves; purpose, destiny and their place in this world. This ministry is designed for them to come together to share their stories, struggles and successes. It also allows them mentoring opportunities on all levels amonsgt their peers; by helping those coming behind them and leadership by those ahead to ease the journey. This ministry speaks to the hearts of what's now! This group is facilitated by a youth director who understands this transition and can help you get to where you are destined by God. Music and Arts Ministry purposes to serve God by offering music, dance, theatrical and visual presentation in excellence, designed to welcome His awesome presence, and to prepare the hearts of the people to receive the Word of God. The Bible says that God inhabits the praises of His people (Psalms 22:3). In other words, God “dwells” in the atmosphere of His praise. This means that praise is not merely a reaction from coming into His presence - Praise is a vehicle of faith which brings us into the presence and power of God! Praise and worship is the gate which allows us to enter the sacredness of His glory. The psalmist writes, “Enter into his gates with thanksgiving, and into his courts with praise: be thankful unto him, and bless his name” (Psalms 100:4).At the Rock Community Church, we desire to see the presence and power of God experienced through music, singing, clapping, up-raised hands and shouts of joy. We have dramatic and expressive praise that is designed to give glory to God.Our praise and worship creates an atmosphere that prepares the congregation to receive from God; His peace; His joy; His healing; His forgiveness and all that He has to offer. New Members MinistryNew Members Ministry is designed for those who have been a member for one (1) year or less. It is designed to ensure that all New Members make a smooth and comfortable transition into their new Church family. It is our desire to make sure that every possible resource is available to our New Members as they pursue the Kingdom!•We provide spiritual support, leadership development and practical guidance to new converts to the Christian faith and the vision/mission of the ROCK.•We desire to make New Members familiar with the history and organizational structure of the ROCK. •We familiarize New Members with the Vision of the House, Baptism Doctrine and Stewardship and Discipleship. •We provide next steps for New Members as they become part of the ROCK family with introduction to fellow members, facilities and ministries. •We motivate New Members to become actively involved in small groups ministries or other service/support ministries and volunteer in any areas they wish to grow and serve.New Members Orientation•The ROCK provides new members orientation. This is a class consisting of seven lessons that take place Sunday mornings during the Sunday School hour at 10:30am.

SERVICE MINISTRIES Media Ministry Those in the Media Ministry assist in the areas of Broadcasting, Audio & Video Production, Internet and live sound production. They are responsible for the production of CDs and DVDs, as well as the selling of audio, video and print media. Hospitality Ministries- Ushers & Welcome TeamI would rather be a doorkeeper in the house of my God than dwell in the tents of wickedness” (Psalm 84:10). Christ calls every member of the church into ministry. The church is “a kingdom of priests” (I Peter 2:9). As an usher, you are a minister of hospitality and caring in the church. Every Christian believer is called to ministry, gifted by the Holy Spirit, and in baptism ordained for ministry (Ephesians 4:11-12). We are blessed as we serve as doorkeepers. God uses us to minister to the hurting through prayer, a kind word or simply a warm smile. As we serve as doorkeepers, seat people, serve communion and collect the offering, we see people as they come to church. They are sometimes burdened, sad or discouraged and then we see the awesome power of God bring the backsliders home, the addicts set free, and the sick healed! Each person, member or newcomer comes with the hope that the Sabbath will be an experience of uplift and inspiration, a time of renewal and celebration. The skillful usher helps to make this a reality for those in attendance. It is only with a surrendered heart and God’s grace that we are able to serve and see the power of God change lives. Prayer & Intercessory Ministry The Biblical basis for the New Testament believer's ministry of intercessory prayer is our calling as priests unto God. The Word of God declares that we are a holy priesthood (1 Peter 2:4), a royal priesthood (1 Peter 2:8), and a kingdom of priests (Revelation 1:5). Intercessory prayer is prayer for others. An intercessor is one who takes the place of another or pleads another's case. One study Bible defines intercession as "holy, believing, persevering prayer whereby someone pleads with God on behalf of another or others who desperately need God's intervention." Marriage & Family Marriage ministry trains couples to lead marriage enrichment classes, workshops, seminars, ministries and programs along with events. Also does training and pre-marital classes for those thinking of taking steps towards marriage. This ministry is also a resource for other family enrichment needs and solutions for healthy families. Singles Ministry "He who is unmarried cares for the things of the Lord - how he may please the Lord." 1 Cor 7:33 (NKJ)The Singles Ministry is a welcoming, nurturing community that encourages Christ-centered growth, service, and celebration. Together we are:- Growing personally and spiritually- Sharing God's gifts through service- Interconnecting with the larger church- Celebrating life with othersWho are single adults? Single adults are people without spouses. This includes the divorced, never-married, widow, and widower. Remember there will be divorced, never-married, widows, and widowers who are also single parents. While it is easy to think of never-married people as young adults or widows and widowers as older adults, you’ll find single adults in every age group.Missions The Missions Ministry exists in our effort to fulfill the Great Commission (Matthew 28:19-20) as a way for members of the ROCK to fulfill the church’s calling to missions. There are two parts of this calling: Evangelism, which is sharing the Gospel of Jesus Christ in our immediate context, and Missions, which is sharing the Gospel outside our immediate context. Our missions strategy focal points represent how we will go about spreading the redeeming message of Jesus Christ to the world: 1. Education – Focuses the ROCK on how to fulfill God’s mission and opportunities for mission involvement (evangelism training, mission training, mission videos, mission communications in our Christian Education-Sunday School curriculum). 2. Empowerment - Focuses the ROCK on empowering our resources and meeting those in need. These emphases build credibility in order to share God’s message of love and redemption (Annual Food Drive, God Smiles – Dental Missions, Operation Christmas Child, Ministry and etc). 3. Events - Focuses the ROCK on opportunities to get involved personally in missions (local ministry and mission projects, disaster relief opportunities, mission trips, partnerships with churches and missionaries across the world, Adopt-a-Church, church planting, and more).Community CareLife can be challenging and difficult. We may find ourselves in very difficult situations which may require additional assistance and support in order to get through the hurdle. Community Care exists to assist those within our congregation and the community during these difficult times.The assistance offered by the ROCK Community Care is three dimensional: 1) assist with the basic necessities of life as funding and resources allow. 2) offer support and make available resources to enable the individual and/or family to go through the initial crisis and make plans to bring stability for the future. 3) bridge the gap for the individual to connect with Jesus by seeing first hand how God uses a local church to assist in providing for their physical and emotional needs.GET INVOLVEDTwo ways to help: 1) Financially: The Community Care Ministry is based on the gifts and donations. Without this assistance we would not be able to help individuals and families during their time of crisis and need. 2) Volunteer: As our Community Care Ministry grows and develops, volunteers are essential in assisting those who are struggling, to let them know they may be struggling but yet not doing it alone.

Take a look at what the Lord has done...Dr. Leonard Stephen Scott was born in Indianapolis, Indiana to adoring parents Nathaniel and Bernice Scott. Education was key in this household. As a child, he attended Public School 87 and after graduating from Arsenal Technical High School, his parents encouraged him to go to college. He enrolled at Indiana State University and after three years was accepted into Indiana University School of Dentistry. During his sophomore and junior years in dental school, he played in a pop band called the Soul Messengers on weekends. He was wearing himself thin trying to be a pop star, fulfill the rigors of dental school and raise three young children. One night while studying models of teeth in his apartment, a voice spoke to him and said, "Now is your time." Immediately, he put the teeth down, got into his car and drove to Christ Temple Apostolic Faith Church. When he walked inside, he approached the altar where many were kneeling in prayer, got on his knees and received the Holy Ghost. This experience changed his life forever! In 1976, the now Dr. Scott and Minister Craig Tyson worked together to produce Feel Good, the first recording project of the Christ Church Combined Choirs. This recording launched Tyscot Recording Company, the nation's oldest black-owned gospel record label. Today the company has publishing companies as well as other labels under its corporate umbrella. Tyscot is the label which launched and/or has been instrumental in the careers of such gospel greats as Rev. John P. Kee, Deitrick Haddon, Witness, Rodnie Bryant & CCMC, Morris Chapman, Bishop Larry D. Trotter, Bishop Noel Jones, The Rance Allen Group and many more. In 1977, Dr. Scott married the beautiful Christine Tyson of Youngstown, Ohio. God blessed them to parent 7 talented children - Jonathan, Bryant, Nathan, Leonard, Lynna, Melanie and Katherine. In 1999, Dr. Scott received the call to start a church, and in 2000, with the blessing and support of his Pastor, he and his wife opened Rock Community Church. Three years later his Bishop recommended that Dr. Scott serve as Suffragan Bishop in Kenya, Africa. Dr. Scott accepted this call with the unction to take the mission of Rock Community Church to Africa. That mission is "to reach the masses with the gospel, making them worshipping, witnessing disciples of Jesus Christ."
